A fire burned in the eastern portion of Delgado’s Cabinets Wednesday morning. Firefighters from Delhi, Hilmar, Livingston and Stevinson battled the morning blaze and were able to keep it contained to just a portion of the building.
While a water tender continued to keep water on the building to make sure no sparks would re-ignite, owner John Delgado and his employees worked to remove items from the building in hopes of salvaging what they could.
Details regarding the cause of the fire were not yet available. Employees were in the shop at the time and immediately did whatever they could to prevent the fire from spreading, according to Ginger Delgado. They called 911 and John Delgado. Firefighters arrived and put the fire out before it spread into the main portion of the building.
Delgado’s Cabinets has existed for nearly 35 years. The Delhi business started in 1972. Owners John and Laurie Delgado were not available for comment immediately following the fire.
