Hilmar- On July 28 just after 4 p.m. in the 8000 block of Lander Ave, a delivery truck was making its rounds at the Dairyland Market. When the driver got out, he was approached by a white male, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a light blue muscle shirt, grey shorts with bald head and brandishing an unknown caliber handgun.

The suspect took the driver’s cash before taking off on foot. He was seen running to a white Ford Taurus, late 90’s model a few blocks away where he jumped into the passenger side of the vehicle as it drove off.  Deputies believe he had an accomplice and it was a planned get away.

No one was hurt during the incident and the Merced Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to please contact them at (209) 385-7472.
