Delhi High School celebrated its winter homecoming with a 57-36 victory over the Turlock Christian Eagles tonight.
When the two teams met earlier this season, TC beat Delhi by just one point. The Delhi team looked forward to the opportunity to have another shot at the TC team.
Though they struggled a bit in the first quarter, the Hawks found their groove, improved their rebounding percentage and made some terrific shots to take the lead and hold onto it.
The 2010 winter homecoming court was crowned at halftime following a spirit performance by the Delhi cheerleaders.
Despite some unnecessary fouls and a few hiccups here and there, Delhi maintained and extended their lead. The crowd roared with excitement throughout the second half and celebrated the win as the game ended.
Tomorrow, the Delhi Hawks will play the Mariposa Grizzlies at home.
